DTube Takes 25% Of Your Rewards! DLive Takes 0%. Is it better to post on DTube, DLive, or YouTube?
I just discovered, from @brandonfrye, who posted this video on YouTube (he's now boycotting DTube), that DTube takes 25% of all the rewards, both author and curatio, from the rewards pool, off the top. As Brandon explains, this is for expenses necessary to host videos. Brandon doesn't quarrel with the idea that these expenses need to be paid for somehow. His real quarrel, as far as I can tell, is that there's no notice, such as Terms Of Service, or in the FAQ for DTube, that this is being done. So authors become bewildered and confused when they don't get the rewards they feel they deserve. Brandon just wants some transparency on this. He's arguing for a 15% take instead of 25%. This makes sense to me. What do you think? DLive charges 0%. So what's the real story here? And maybe posting on YouTube (as Brandon is doing) is better, even with the demonetization issue.
