Screaming Engines, Melting Rubber, and Car Culture at Supercar Sunday

It’s 8 am on a Sunday morning in the quiet town of Woodland Hills. People are either enjoying their first cup of coffee for the day or still fast asleep, but not us. This morning we’re joined by petrolheads from every stretch of the valley at our weekly gathering. Supercar Sunday, as it's affectionately known, draws your usual crowd consisting of V12 Lamborghini’s, twin turbo Mclaren’s, and Dodge Demon’s ready to pop a wheelie at a moments notice. You even have your die-hard canyon racers, equipped with the stickiest tires and stiffest suspensions, just itching to get into the hills with their friends.

For those of you that have never had the pleasure of visiting Los Angeles, allow us to explain. The car culture here can only possibly be rivaled by that of Dubai or London in the summertime. Los Angeles sets such a high bar that best in show cars from other meets will go completely unnoticed here. Who knows, you may even see a celebrity or two.

"...But Go-Kazoku, I live near Los Angeles. Where is this magical place located?"

Excellent question. The meet is located in the AMC Promenade 16 parking lot on the corner of Topanga Canyon & Oxnard Blvd. Ohh and each week there's a different theme; sometimes it's exotics, other times 70’s Germans, and sometimes good old 50’s American muscle. If you're feeling extra festive and it happens to be the second Sunday of the month check out the Sunset GT at the Sunset Plaza. Maybe we'll even see you there!

very cool... I'll have to come back a little later when I have more time to watch the video... I just wanted to comment track, so I know where this is...

@krazyuncle Let us know when you check it out!

Well, I like nearly all things automotive, and since I've studied cars, racing and car culture for fifty years there is very little that I don't like.

Being a former Ford mechanic the first thing that caught my eye was the brawny Cobra... I've always been fascinated by all things relating to Ford racing cars.

The Rat Rod was cool, and I love the Kar Kulture thing going on in that segment of the car scene...

I also thought the little Datsun 510 was cool, being an ex-Nissan mechanic I always wanted to play with one of those cars. I like the rear drive independent suspension on those cars... maybe a KE24DE engine and 5-speed trans to go along with it? That'd be a sweet little car...

Nice video footage and editing... keep at it...
