I think this is quite usual that some people will leave and some new people will come too. I somehow agree with @dk00k13 if they had plan to leave then they should have done it before because now Steem has starred growing. Though I am not very old you respected people and have completed only one year but I have seen so much of action in the platform in last six months. There is great development activities in dApps and Steem is gaining more popularity. Lot's of people coming here with long term vision and such people are like assets to this Community.

So honestly I am not worried whoever is leaving but I am sure after few years they will regret leaving it. Steem is making it difficult to survive for new members through every hardfork and whoever survives then for sure he is doing good. Since last hardfork 20 to this upcoming hf21 Steemit Inc will make bigger changes and 50/50 reward is one of them.

I am here for long term and I know lot's of great people who have same long term association with the community. Even you're an inspiration for many people dear @jeronimorubio as I have been following you since the time I joined. You inspire people to work better in the platform and if they do good then for sure they will never leave. STEEM is for life not for few years. Great topic.
