Didge in EDM - Inhale Fire Exhale Light (Beat Battle League S2:R7) - Nathan Kaye (Noisefloor)

in #dsound7 years ago (edited)

There’s nothing quite like a phat didge riff in a classic-style electronic dance music track with a conscious lyric beat poem and co-produced by me.

Okay, so this is vastly different to what you’ve heard from me before. But I am a creator and I am influenced by many different things this is just a different side of my expression.

This is a track I recorded with a live EDM band I was in based on Lamma Island, (near Hong Kong) China, called 'Noisefloor.'
We would do 6 hour long gigs in Hong Kong and in parts of China.

And this track definitely got the dance floor pumping every time it was played!!

The band consisted of a live drummer (drumkit & Djembe), funk bass player, 2 DJs, and myself doing my multi-instrumental thing (Vocals, Didgeridoo, electric guitar).

Ayyyyyy yesssssss what a bumpin didge infused EDM jam o myyyy.

You got me moving with this one.

Such an epic combo of bass and didge in the first two minutes.

Love how you brings those vocals "Inhale fire, exhale light" in around 2:20 what a vibeeeee. Those are some lyrics made for an epic live performance.

So awesome the use of scratches around 4:00 man I can't stop dancing and getting in the zone with this one such an awesome creation.

"Loving is life."

Much appreciation for sharing this epicccccccc EDM track with the communiy.

Aaaaaahhhh! I always love your comments, mate!
So uplifting, supportive and positive!
Yes, the bass player was a super funky player and the DJ's were like percussionists with their scratching techniques.
The original version had the drummer saying, "Shut the fuck up and... Dance!" It was actually fun and funny, but we ended up taking it out so that he only said "Dance, dance, dance." There's a bigger backstory to it than that, but...
Now I kinda wish we kept it in just for laughs because laughing and dancing are both so healing...

Anyway, I'm super stoked that you enjoyed this and I was so beautifully surprised that I won the round!
Muchos gracias bro!

Gotta love how the Universe works so happy to be able to be uplifted by your tunes so glad to hear my comments help.

O wowwww now that version I am sure would have a vibe to it o myyyyy. And amennnn laughing and dancing is so incredible and healing. Went to a Dance Church in LA a few months back and it was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. Definitely want to spread that around.

Congrats again brother man :)

That worked well, reminds me a bit of Highlight Tribe opening Ozora. Real organic trance. Really took me away, cheers ;)

Cheers mate!
I don’t know highlight tribe. I’ll have to check them out.

This track was recorded in Hong Kong in 2001.

Woah, 2001 is just crazy. Great job, it sounds way more "modern" than that.

Yeah the didg sounds like a natural element in EDM, like that's what the aboriginals were thinking when they invented it! At least the way you do it here, makes it sound like it belongs here!

That must have been a real rush playing six hour gigs! Takes a lot of stamina at this pace I would say!

Thanks mate! Yeah, I’ve always said that the didge is an organic techno machine or organic synth bass.
It’s subby, but also trippy.

Yeah, it took massive amounts of stamina to crank gigs that long, that’s for sure, but lotsa fun!

Just this year I got to collaborate with a didg player myself, and am still very pleased with the results. Of course I agree with all the praises you sing for it above.

Those marathon gigs will at least remain the fondest of memories, if not good training for what's to come of your music career! Wonderful how music is an exercise that covers all three, mind, body, and spirit!

hot damn I like the sound of the both the beats, and the otherworldy sound you make.

That title alone is a huge draw for attention and when you listen to the track it just transports you to an almost hypnotic vibe.

Thanks heaps @maverickinvictus!
I'm stoked you connected with it!

Digging these vibes. I always like it when electronic music has organic elements to it. The unique instruments make it a little reminiscent of Shpongle, but with your own style. Hearing this really got me in the zone. I can imagine how awesome the live gigs must've been. Also dude, inhale fire, exhale light are the most beautiful words I've heard today.

Thanks so much @soulturtle!
Yes, I love Shpongle so I take that as a big compliment!
Dude, the live gigs were incredible! We were doing really well with the band, but the 2 DJs got hooked on heroin and I wasn't living in China, plus my own music career in Australia took off, so it kinda fell apart.

Oh fabulous! Actually the practice of inhale fire exhale light is fantastic for alignment and energising in meditation and dancing.

I love this, Nathan.. It's like I'm walking through the bush!! Even though I have no idea what that feels like!!! Whoooo!

Thanks so much, lovely!
Well, you know what, I used to co-organise dance parties in the bush on every full moon! They were amazing! So it is kinda like that!

Love the sound. It would not be the same without the didge in there. I can see a form of dance to this. Hm... with the right drink maybe :p

Thanks so much @foxyspirit!
Yeah, this track definitely got the dance floor pumping!

CONGRATS on making 1st place! Cool track <3

Thanks so much d-vine! :)

Congratulations dude keep it up
