WakeUp Rejuvenated!

in #dsound6 years ago (edited)

Namaste!

So, what can you do after waking up with powerful breathing? Well, rejuvenate, meditate and get your body ready for the day of course!

What better way than to lie flat on your belly with your feet turned out and heels turned inwards. :)

Sounds bizarre, well, let me explain.

When we are sleeping, our bodies aren't fully relaxed. We hold a lot of tension in our bodies and our minds before we fall asleep. Some of that continues through the night, and sometimes when we wake up, we feel tight, creaky and exhausted.

And 95% of the population (myself included) would have most likely slept in an awkward position for a little too long, causing some tightness in some muscles over the years. Which is why I fall asleep more consciously these days in an effort to reverse some of the strain I've cause in some parts of my body.

Let's not waste any more time shall we? The asana OR pose we will be doing is called MAKARASANA or Crocodile Pose. It has tremendous benefits for the body, mind and emotions. It helps relax your back muscles, expand your diaphragm, calm and balance your mind and emotions.

I'm combining this with a short meditative practice you will not only to rejuvenate your body, but to get yourself ready for the day ahead with greater postural alignment.

You can also practice this mid day and before you go to sleep at night.

ASSUME THE POSITION

  1. To get into the pose you will first need to lie face down with your arms resting just above your head.
  2. Your feet should be turned out sideways such that your toes are pointing outwards, while your heels are pointing inwards and towards each other.
  3. You can adjust the distance of your legs so that you are comfortable.
  4. Roll your shoulders back if they are riding up towards your ears.
  5. If you need a little extra room for your nose, you can stack your palms on top of each other and rest your forehead on the back of your palm.

COMING OUT OF IT

  1. Bring your hands under your shoulders and gently push yourself up like a push up.
  2. Bring your buttocks to rest on your heels (Japanese style)
  3. Keep your arms on the floor with your elbows touching your knees (like a sphynx)
  4. Breathe in and out a few times lifting your head up as you inhale, and bringing your head down as you exhale.
  5. After a few breaths sit up on your heels and slowly come to a standing position.

Now you are ready.

I wish I could paste pics in here, but I haven't figured out how that works on dsound yet. So please bear with me on these instructions.

I promise to make my way onto videos soon. ;)

Hope you enjoy the session.

These are all going in a little file on my desktop :)

I wish I could help you with the photos as well; I've never used dsound though.

Hehehe, lovely! Enjoy!

I was thinking about it, and what I'm going to do is have a separate Steemit post with the pics and instructions with the dsound link right below.

I'll even structure it in sequence so it can be done as a practice.
