RE: Finding Ways to Make Steem Meaningful
I truly hope there is a way to make your idea a reality. I honestly joined Steemit platform as a place I can share my thoughts. But, it became way bigger than that for me. I met some amazing people and made some real connections with people. I really did enjoy my time here a lot. I believed this platform is something bigger than just let's make money. Which pretty much what this world is right now in reality. I think greed has gotten the best of people. But, I saw something different in Steemit.
I really did saw people helping each other, and really genuinely care about one another. Honestly, that is in the end what kept me on Steemit. Investing much of my time into building my blog. I never took out a penny from Steemit. Heck to the point I don't even know how jet. lol
I honestly stayed here because of the connections and friendships I created along my journey on Steemit. Recently I have seen many great content creators and my friends powering down and leaving the platform due to the upcoming fork or whatever that is called. It has to do with the new author reward distribution. Which I don't know if it a good thing or not? As I really never got deep into finding all of that out.
But, it is sad to hear about great content creators leaving the platform from what it seems a change which will make a small number of people richer and the small guys poorer. Which kind of resembles the world today in reality? I also understand some people see as just an investment and nothing else. And, for me, that is ok as well.
But, there has to be some balance which would keep investors and great content creators to stick with Steemit. Because Steemit will not exist without investors or content creators leaving. There has to be a way to satisfy both investors and content creators. Or, I am afraid I know where this platform is going. I remember the platform called TSU which went up in flames because there was a big divide between the investors and content creators. And, I truly hope this is not the case for Steemit as well.
I noticed true interaction has greatly diminished on Steemit recently because people mostly post to reap the benefits of the reward pool. Hardly any real interaction is happening and this was supposed to be a SOCIAL platform. You know where people actually interact and leave meaningful comments. At least that is how I look at it.
I truly hope people running the platform will take into consideration that without great content creators the value of this platform will decrease greatly. And, with content creators leaving so it will their profit. I hope they realize keeping the content creators happy if beneficial for them. But, as I said before, I am no expert on the matter but that is the way I see it. There has to be balance or Steemit could end up just being another GREAT IDEA instead of PLATFORM which changed the world. And, this platform has that potential.
Your idea, my amazing friend, is I hope a way of maybe getting that balance we need on Steemit. I truly hope so, as I honestly hate to see people like @dreemsteem leaving the platform. Anyone who knows her knows how much time she has invested in this platform and how amazing she was with helping people grow their blogs on Steemit. If she is leaving then something seems to be going in the wrong direction with Steemit.
Anyways that is my take on it. I hope there is a way to please both investors, and content creators happy. Maybe your idea is one of those ideas which can bring forth that balance Steemit needs.
