UK driving license - useless information?
Just a little rant about the information on UK's driving license...
WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU NEED YOUR HOME ADDRESS ON IT?!
A driving license isn't one of the widely accepted forms of proof of address for a number of authorities and surely your blood type and/or medicine you're allergic to would be a lot more useful in case you got into an accident (God forbid!). What on earth are the doctors in A&E gonna do with the fact that you live in a house/flat in Kent/Sussex/London when you're fighting for your life and need blood transfusion? And surely a next of kin contact details would be a lot more useful, especially for those of us who live alone?! DVLA database has all of our home addresses, how else would they know where to send those speeding camera fines?! All that plus the added pain in the bum when having to change your license every time you move… Silly!
Rant's over! Thank you for reading :)
