Being a tailor has been one creative career I can ever imagine tho it pays less here in Nigeria but the joy of seeing someone appear neat and stunning by the clothes you made has been a wonderful feeling....
My first day in that tailoring shop was so wonderful for me watching those workers make those clothes within few time seems to me that they are just genius but with time I began to learn it step by step
*Making a dress
In dressmaking their are so many things to be considered before you start working on a particular material/fabric
First you have to consider the choice of the owner ...what exactly does he or she want her clothes to look like ...when your certain with this the next step is studying the material your working on ..IMG_20210222_121223_532_1613992367293.jpg]()
.some materials will come in plane form with no design or drawing attached on the surface while some are filled with either drawing or lining....then if the clothe has a drawing then you consider placing those clothes in a way that it would look in uninform with the design attached .now we consider the quality and texture of the fabric.,this will determine the kind of machine you will be working with then after this ..you go ahead with the cutting...there are so many things we consider as well before we cut a fabric; Which one of them is the measurements,if your sewing for a man for instance the measurements you have to get on ground which will lead you through the cutting are first the top are ...the neck size ....the shoulder ...sleeve length and round sleeve (depending if it is a long sleeve or not ) ...the chest width....the body width...the top full length...and the hips
Now coming to the trouser side we have the waist length....the trouser length ....the thigh round length...the kneel and ankle round length...with this your good to go for your trouser ....now you place the fabric on a table folding the fabric once the outline the measurements you took ...when your done with this you will go into sewing and the materials necessary for sewing include...your thread...your gumstel....waist band for the trouser...zip...button ... lining... tailoring machine and your weeving machines....what matters most is that your threading is straight and neat then your finishing ....
Tailoring is a profession which requires a creative mind in other to bring in new designs ...like extending those fashion to both the shoes and the cap you wear makes it more interesting
Becoming a fashion designer was one of the sweetest things to do because it doesn't stress much and inform of a hobby
