["Sleepwalker." Colored pencil on cardstock tile. 2020.]

Mariah sensed I was feeling a bit down, so she ordered me a "Sketchbox," which is like Loot Crate but for art supplies. This one was based around high end colored pencils, and these little, cardstock squares.

After finishing my monster sleepwalker, I taped her into my notebook (with another weird little sketck)...

I don't know why I wrote the thing about my wallet. I know exactly who ate it...

I drew other stuff today, too. This one's my favorite:

["Rainbow Seagull." Ink on found cardboard with digital embellishments and color. 2020.]

You might be wondering why he's so upset... I mean being rainbow colored and glowing in the dark seems like it would be awesome, right? But not if the colors and glow come from spilled oil, toxic sludge, and nuclear swill... Justifiable frustration, if you ask me.

I also drew this...which is ugly and makes me uncomfortable, but I like the colors and the distraught ghost.

["Superhero Crashes and Burns." Ink and colored pencil on found cardboard with digital embellishments and color. 2020.]

It's dark and yucky and intense, but art can often be cathartic. Better out than in, they say! I'd rather get these unpleasant feelings down on paper or canvas rather than having them rattling my brains...

As a pallet cleanser, here's yet another photo of our old cat (digitally tweaked, of course...)

Funny old thing...

And that's what I did today. Drew some stuff and taped most of it into my notebook. Felt good. Glad that I took the time to just draw again. I need to do that more often.
