Hello hello! I'm still alive!
I had a really busy first couple of weeks of summer but I've been able to get really into some art these past few days!

I haven't been able to do a lot of traditional art lately so I really wanted to get something down on paper. I didn't want to do a finished piece because that was a lot of pressure so I decided to test out this new sketchbook, it isn't artist grade paper (as I later found out while watercolouring) but it isn't awful.

I think the fact that it wasn't super good paper helped me just let loose and draw for the sake of drawing, not to create something incredible but to just have fun and experiment.

This was my set up, I took out my sakura koi watercolour set, some brushes, coloured pencils and my sketchbook.

My sister really liked the colour of the purple water and asked me if she could keep it, haha I wasn't sure what she meant by keep it.

This was the first one I did, where I discovered that this paper may not be the best for watercolour.

I really really liked the sketch but after colouring it she kind of looked like she had a rough night haha.

I tried something new with this drawing which was drawing with a coloured pencil then painting. I've never tried that before, but I had been watching a lot of youtube videos and a lot of people drew their drawings first with coloured pencil instead of regular pencil.

I had to go over the drawing once more after painting it but I think the technique was alright.

The second drawing was just with coloured pencil, I really like the red blue combo so I mainly used that.

This one I wanted to focus on drawing a more elaborate costume so I decided to try drawing armour

I used a couple of references from the internet to create my own armour and it was super fun!

This one I wanted to try more elaborate clothing so I went with like a fashion queen of some sort. I still wanted to see how the water colours would hold if I drew with pencil so I tried it.

This last one I did on some better paper, it was more for watercolours. Once again I tried drawing with coloured pencil but this time instead of going over it with coloured pencil again I lined everything with paint.

This is another technique that I've seen used.

I ended up colouring the hair really differently but I quite like the result of this one.

All work belongs to me, hope you enjoy!
