The Way of an Artist - Documentary
The creators of this audiovisual work was thanks to Abraham Gil and Christian, Abraham contacted me by instagram directly, he told me everything about this project, I really liked his proposal, on the one hand I felt nervous and worried because I suffer from fear Scenic, it is something that I have improved over time thanks to photography and I have lowered my nerves. In the end I accepted, and with this I set myself as a challenge to face one of my biggest fears, I think that to grow as a person you have to manage to face your fears.
The main idea of the documentary was to talk about how artists, photographers, illustrators, etc. Could work in times of crisis, specifically in the current situation in Venezuela, they chose me because of my versatility in several artistic branches that would be photography, drawing and painting, and it took them by surprise the fact that he studied a scientific career that is Civil Engineering.
The day of the interview arrived, we performed it in my work area and prepared the whole scene, we placed the respective teams and we began to analyze the questions that were going for the interview, each answer would have to be very generic or be a range of general lines, and above all to relate each artistic branch to each other, for me it was not so complicated to answer each question since the answers were key to being able to maintain balance in my life, it worked for me.
They wanted to record the painting process to add it to the documentary, so I decided to work in watercolor and draw one of my photographs. The materials I used for this little drawing were the following:
- Gouache Royal & Langnickel
- Watercolor
(of no specific brand) - Modigliani Cardboard
(Measures: 26.5x16 cm) - Brushes (No. 10 and 5)
- Palette to mix
- Scotch tape
- 4H pencil and eraser
- Clipboard
- A glass and piece of cloth
- Water
I will be eternally grateful to Abraham Gil and Christian for this great collaboration and for giving me a voice, now everyone can know my story, know me a little more and I hope that upon hearing it they can discover the wonders of art. With nothing more to add then I leave the documentary. I must say that the documentary is in Spanish, so do not forget to activate the subtitles.
