I love the Life Modules Creation Option it gives a Charcter a depness ,and it is nice for beginners to have a Background for the Character . Downside it is a lot of writing down and calculating

Making a character yourself, by hand? Haven't done that for such a system for years. Savage Worlds or Numenera, OK - for other, more complicated systems I always use a program. Is Genesis working for Shadowrun? I know people that play SR 5 but I never talked with them about character generation.
Hm yep genesis has a SR5 support
The complicated part is the equipment (well at least for me) because of the million possibilities with cyberware, bioware etc.

Most of the Time i do my Character by Hand . It helps me to get in the rules again and i know better the Merits and Flaws of my Char .
Of course you have to know the rules, know what you want, how you want your character, which things do that and how everything is connected. But all these "if I take this it will give me a +2 on that" and changing that on a piece of paper? Nope, for that I love programs - even a sheet a MythWeavers will do ;)
