    No, it is not new. Manna is present since 2015, so it is a 4 years old cryptocurrency.

    "Do I need a new wallet?"
    No, you don't. If you create an account on https://mannabase.com, then that account will function as a wallet. You can send and receive Manna from that account. You don't need to create a new wallet.

    "Is that an airdrop?"
    Yes, it is a constant airdrop. It is a UBI (Universal Basic Income).
    You automatically receive some (nowadays around 6.20) Manna weekly for free.
    Other than to register, verify your account, and get approved, you don't need to do anything for that.
    However, you can increase the amount you receive weekly by referring new people to the program.
    And you can also mine Manna.
