He was a very weird dude who had a hope to become an RCMP officer in his high school year book. Instead he became a denturist who seemed obsessed with the RCMP. He had an old RCMP patrol car which he had fixed up to look like new and an RCMP uniform (not the red parade one yet duty cop look with the yellow stripe down the legs). He drove around in that to do his killings, actually pulling over an older couple at one point and putting them in the back and torching the patrol car then making off in their's.
The first reports of his capture kind of made a slip of the tongue when they reported, "he was killed by police after being detained". You don't kill an RCMP officer (which he did in all this) and expect to get out alive.
