Look, smart people joke about DEI in most cases. In this case, it's going to cost lives. It's going to cost lives of criminals, suspects, and cops.

If you're not smart enough to do fourth grade math and reading, which a lot of the questions on these tests are, you're not going to grasp the law that you're enforcing. You're a lot less likely to understand the basics of proportionality in regard to use of force.

If you're not as physically capable as the person who you're trying to detaine or arrest, it's a lot harder to stop the the person who is resisting being detained or arrested without using a gun.

If anything, more women in the police force is going to create more legally justified use of force cases by women on suspects. Disparity of size is a real thing. If it's a male suspect (as it usually is) attacking a male cop, and the suspect is only showing his fists, and the cop is physically fit, the expectation is that the cop take other measures before he pulls his gun. If you've got the same suspect against a woman, who is one of the nearly 60% of female applicants who failed the physical fitness test, she's much more justified in going for her gun, because she has zero chance of winning the physical fight.

Also, if this female fight hesitates to pull her gun on this suspect, you've got a dead woman cop.

Being physically fit is an essential component in being able to detaine a violent criminal using non-lethal force.

90% of violent criminals in prison are men. That's going to remain true forever. Those violent criminals should be taken off the streets by men or physically freakishly strong women.

Is the representation of women in law enforcement more important than women's safety. It's the representation of minority communities and women in law enforcement more important than community safety? Is that representation more important than the freedom of the officers who end up being DEI hires? Some of these DEI cops could end up in prison for a long time if they use deadly force -- believing that they were justified -- only to find out that they technically committed voluntary manslaughter or worse.

DEI is always stupid. This time, DEI is dangerous.
