RE: Screwball (documentary): One of the best I have seen in a while

So is that the reason that A-Rod gets a pass and Pete Rose gets the shaft? Because Rose was doing something that was actually deemed illegal? Which of the two things do people really think had more impact on the game? I think it is hands down the PED's. It is a shame that there is such a double standard for things like this.

Yeah, it has to boil down to that. Well, i don't want to go so far as to say that PED's are 100% legal, but it depends a lot. If you or i just wanted to kick ass at a triathlon, we could probably find a doctor that would prescribe us this stuff and we wouldn't go to jail if we got caught. Well, come to think of it, Armstrong did not jail time nor did anyone else. The fella in this doco that went to jail did so not because he was helping a-rod do this, or even that he got the stuff off the streets. He did time because he used other doctors' prescription pads and he put minors on the program as well.

The thing that is shown in the documentary that is so damming towards MLB is that it looks as though they were actually aware of it but because of all the extra money they were making from certain players hitting crazy amounts of homeruns, they turned a blind eye.

I don't believe Rose is even mentioned in the doco, but they could probably do another one about just him.
