Wanted to win the match against a big team: Saifuddin - Cricbuzz

Yesterday the match played between India and Bangladesh would have seen a different result had Bangladesh batsmen applied themselves. It wasn't a score that couldn't have been chased down neither were India bowling at their best.

Mohammad Saifuddin and Shabbir Rahman tried their bit to rescue their team from a losing position to a winning position when they stitched a beautiful partnership together.

Earlier Shakib tried his bit but couldn't get going as he perished after scoring a fifty. Shabbir Rahman, an excellent player, but short of runs off late was eager to get some runs under his belt. He would have been more desperate than any other batsman around. Saifuddin, however, wanted to finish the game for his team and he came all guns blazing against the faster bowlers, which I understand he is stronger of, while he was very careful with the way he handled Chahal. He had done it before in the U-19 match and he wanted to repeat it and what would have been better than doing it on the biggest stage and against one of the best teams.

Saifuddin was left stranded at the other end of the crease as he kept on loosing partners and in the end everything was done and dusted by a couple of excellent Yorkers by Jassi Bumrah to finish the game for India. Bangladesh would take a big positive out of this match in Saifuddin and they'll hope that he keeps on playing like this for them in future as well.
