UIDAI row: Google apologises; says Aadhaar toll free number 'inadvertently' coded into setup of Android

So finally Google apologies for the mistake it did for "inadvertently" loading the old UIDAI helpline number and 112 helpline number into Android phones. If you are on whatsapp, I am sure, you would have got many similar messages doing the rounds, telling that your phone may get hacked because of this number in your Contacts. It almost created panic among people, because most people do not understand the logic behind this. So seeing a number in your contact, that you have not added, definitely creates some concerns of a possibility of something going wrong.
And Google did this on its own, even though UIDAI had said it has not asked any phone maker or telecom service provider to include its toll-free number on mobile phones.
So is just apologizing is enough ?

Why Google will add a number at its own? This is bullshit. Perhaps people are rightly claiming that government is eager to keep surveillance over the citizens.
No, it was a mistake from Google :) They admitted .
Ever since they changed CEO, a few years back, Google has been a lot more focused on making money... And the old motto of "Don't Be Evil" has unfortunately been thrown out of the window.
Google is not only treating its customers worse than it used to... but its employees, too.
Focusing on short term profits is a tactic that might come back to bite them. We shall see.
True, they are now the monolithic dictators.
