Moss fascination
Moss is beautiful, guys! Did you know that if you let it dry up completely and then water it, it will come back to life? I make this statement with absolutely no scientific basis, by the way.
My fascination for this growth of nature is evident.
I built a terrarium exclusively for moss the other day (the correct name is possibly a herbarium, but I think terrarium sounds cooler). I think I'll even write a follow-up post to explain how I made it.
Here's how it turned out:
I like it a lot. And it only cost me about 8 USD to make. X-mas presents are officially covered.
Both photos captured by me.
Wow that looks like something I'd like to do... I already have plenty of rocks for making a few!
With the research I've done regarding gems having certain healing properties to them, I suspect that your terrarium will flourish having those rocks in there! Very nice pictures too!
I fancy those mini terrariums. I was hoping to make one or two for christmas as well. But I never got to buy all the stuff required for it. Couple weeks left, maybe I get to it.
It was actually surprisingly easy to make. One ingredient that I've seen recommended over and over again (on the internet), is "active charcoal". I found it in a regular "everything"-shop at a pretty cheap price. It's supposed to prevent mold and bad odors. I put a thin layer of charcoal between the rocks and the dirt, and that was pretty much it.
One thing to look out for is moisture levels. First day I poured about half a cup in. It was waaay too much. I've found that it only requires about 10-12 sprays of water every 4-5 days as long as the lid is on.
It would be cool to see a picture if you do decide to make one.
A great Christmas present!
