Patio Transformation

More home improvement!

Our townhome didn't come with a gate enclosing our front patio. Having a 2 year old, a dog, and a new baby on the way it seemed the best idea.

We had our gate installed and began decorating the space. We soon realized that both our dog and our son were able to easily get out!
Solution: We found some metal landscape edging at Home Depot. This closed the gap between the bottom of the gate and ground where the dog was slipping out. To cover up the edging, we got some Imperial River Rock from Home Depot. We also picked up a few plain pavers to complete the patio. For whatever reason, they all have a small unpaved piece.

After the practical stuff, I moved on to landscaping. Decided to go with a deep red color scheme. Planted some Dragon's Breath and a couple of Cordyline in containers. I also added some small colorful flowers to the corners for variety.

Of course, my son was the first to get his patio chair and mini table...

We eventually settled on a pair of chairs from Lowe's and a fire pit table from Target ( outdoor rug from Bed Bath and Beyond).

BEHOLD The finished product!
