Game Changer DIS to go streaming
This text below is to very close investing friends. I wanted to share it with Steemit users. This may be beneficial to all of us.
I have only streamed since 2010 going to NFLX and leaving Time Warner. If you watch sports --- this is huge! I don't, but please read below.
I always said if this one company went streaming (as we know down here in N.C. with Time Warner now CHTR) it would cause a great shift to the already popular streaming video/internet paradigm.
DIS which I owned (while novices were repurchasing the same bullshit - CSCO, Palm, etc.) during 02/03 collapse, but sold all for killer profit around 2006, is going streaming. I told yall this would be a game changer last decade.
They even announced they will end their partnership with NFLX.
This is a game changer for NFLX ( and as I told yall way back then - when NFLX creates their own shows - see House of Cards they'll be fine) and CHTR. This is bad news for CHTR. They don't know this yet.
Two quick points.
It was holdings like DIS and Dr. Dow with APPL, that made me create my "sleep me share" philosophy during mid 2000's.
What if I had just kept 10 or 20 shares of DIS? I would have made a shitload. Just look at charts plus a divy. (APPL more recent) paying $1.56 per share.
I don't think people understand how large DIS is as a conglomerate. The key words are ESPN (see high cable bills from CHTR or Time Warner prior) and all sorts of other new creations like booking on their platform to their theme parks and new shows. DIS will still have deals with CHTR if they desire.
Perhaps ABC TV network will stay on CHTR/cable? Or DIS may add that to their platform as well. ESPN is the big one.
What if you can stream DIS for $20.00 a month or would you pay $50.00 per month? Also add NFLX and WWE just for shits and giggles.
If you do the math your monthly expense would be equivalent or probably cheaper than your monthly CHTR bill. Yes - all three (DIS, NFLX, WWE) combined.
First it was WWE (a sleep me share holding now) and now DIS. But DIS is huge news across the entertainment industry going streaming vs. traditional.
As yall know, I do not own shares in DIS, NFLX, or CHTR and am not recommending any of the above. Out of the three, I do like the option of picking DIS on a big breakdown in exchanges when that time comes and if I decide to even purchase DIS. This is a game changer, nonetheless. Sort of like television winning against radio in 1950's. Yes radio is still around even with SIRI and P. But you get the idea.
Take Care - LOTN.
