Disc Golf Sunday in Manor, TX
Yesterday I played a round of disc golf with my brother at East Metro Park in Manor, Texas. It's a very challenging course whether you are an experienced player or not, even from the red tees, which is what we played. It was a decent round for both of us. We both had a few birdie putts go off the top of the basket, but I was happy to walk away with a 69 (+5) on this tough course.
The current condition of the course is that the rough is extremely rough, and the grass on the fairway in some areas gets thick in places. There's a creek in play on many holes, though it's shallow enough to easily get your disc back if it goes in the creek. LOTS of tricky elevation changes and narrow tree gaps. It's a very well designed course overall.
Here is a photo from the fairway of Hole #8, an 805 ft. downhill hole which has the same tee box for Blue and Red , but is counted as a Par 4 for Blues and Par 5 for Reds.
Here's another photo of my approach shot, after a solid drive on Hole #18. The shot captured on this photo landed right next to the basket for a tap-in birdie on this Par 4. A great way to finish the round!
This was my first round keeping score with the UDisc app, and I liked how easy it was. I'll probably continue using it so I can see my stats and not just rely on my memory. My scorecard for the day c/o UDisc:
Thanks for reading, check out this course if you're ever near the Austin area. Happy Disc Golfing!
