I transclude the daily Dilbert comic on my homepage on the interwebs. I have asked permission for that three times, and didn't get an answer three times. I then mailed them that I interpreted their silence as "No, we will not give you permission, but we don't mind much as long as you link to us, and we'll take no action." Again, no response. But also no action.
