"Today...was...but only just barely..." by Richard F. Yates

Today was another recuperation day from having the CRUD. Just didn't have much energy. (I actually slept until, like, almost 11:00 A.M., which is about five hours longer than usual for me!)

Once I rousted myself, though, I spent a little bit of time playing video games---just for FUN! And for the last couple of hours, Mariah and I have been wrapping presents. Technically, Mariah wraps them, and I come up with weird, silly things to write on the name tags!

Our kids---who are 26 and 22 now---never really got presents from Santa. They received gifts from Hello Kitty or Godzilla or "A Moldy French Fry" or "Cat Horf" or Aaron Carter or something weird like that...

I've kept most of the nametags, too, taped in my notebooks---going back almost two decades!!!! (Shit... Has it been that long???) Our own weird little tradition!
