Here is the side salad that I had for lunch today, in addition to ground beef and roasted potato. It is very easy to make, keeps you full for hours and tastes absolutely delicious and refreshing!!! Give it a try!

"Summer cabbage salad"

Ingredients:

  1. Raw cabbage - 200g
  2. 1 tomato
  3. White onion - 1/2 cup
  4. Cucumber - 200g
  5. Juice of lemon or lime - to taste
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. garlic cloves - 2, minced or pressed.
  8. Olive oil - 1 tbsp

Cut the cabbage into small thing stripes. Put some salt over it and squeeze it with your hands several times until it becomes soft and juicy. Cut and mix the rest of the ingredients together, add lemon juice and olive oil. Vuala! Enjoy the yummy goodness!

When people hear the word "diet" most of the time they imagine a strict and borning regiment. And while it can be true in some extreme and unhealthy approaches, generally, it doesn't have to be the case.

Here are some simple rules I live by when it comes to dieting:

  1. 80% of my daily calories must come from whole foods. If I crave "junk" it should fit in the remaining 20%
  2. Keeping my main sources of carbs and protein the same for several weeks (rice, chicken, beef). While variety could be a good thing, it could also cause some potential problems in terms of cravings. The more flavors you brain experiences the more it wants. That's why you see most bodybuilders eating rice, chicken, and broccoli...
  3. Avoid boredom by eating different fibrous veggies every day. Eating different veggies tends to keep my taste buds happy without causing me to crave junk. It also ensures that I'm getting a good spectrum of vitamins and minerals throughout the week.
  4. Make flavored water. Cucumber with lemon, flavored drops, ginger, mint, and berries, etc. And of course, drink at least a gallon a day.
  5. Keep spicy peperoncini, sour krout, and jalapenos nearby. When cravings jump at me out of nowhere, the stack of spicy goodness becomes handy
  6. I always remember that nothing is off limits when it comes to food choices, but I also constantly remind myself why I do what I do and that going off plan will push me further away from my goals.

So here you go, guys. Keep it simple and remember why you started. Dieting CAN be a very good experience when it's done right!
