THE DANGERS OF DIETING MIRACLE
THE DANGERS OF DIETING MIRACLE
The weight control is a major concern in adults. It is estimated that approximately 10% of adults aged between 20 and 74 suffer from morbid obesity while almost 40% of the population is overweight. In fact, it is one of the main motivations that leads many to start the running.
In an attempt to lose weight quickly and easily, many are fooled by innovative diets and deception advertising without being aware of the dangers that can lead to these "magic diet": from diseases or to even the much-feared "effect bounce where you can get up to triple the amount of weight that was lost."
Such are the desire of people for losing weight fast and easily inadvertently trapped in fad diets that are insecure and nutritionally incorrect. Do not consume the nutrients that the body needs is especially dangerous if we run, since the lack of these can lead to fainting in our activity.
The dangers of the main miracle diets are:
• Skip meals:
The body counteracts this effect by increasing enzymes that deposited fat. I.e. increase deposits and storages of fat. After a week of this type of conduct the body adapts to this increasing the proportion of foods which are absorbed by the small intestine. For this reason, if swallowed one higher than normal carbohydrates or protein these will be converted and stored as fat.
That is why nutrition experts advise taking at least 3 and up to a maximum of 6 meals per day.
• Diets low in carbohydrates:
They are characterized by the rapid decline in weight. Glycogen stores in your muscles are depleted quickly, and can cause the appearance of excessive fatigue, hypoglycemia and ketosis.
As for each gram of carbohydrates 3 grams of water stored in the body, to limit the consumption of them, occurs a great loss of water, facilitating the decrease of weight, but once the intake of carbohydrates returns to the normal recovers the weight quickly (the famous "rebound effect").
• Diets with high content of protein (protein):
When carbohydrate intake is too low, proteins contribute to the loss of muscle tissue. However, when swallowed more of proteins necessary to satisfy basic needs (60 grams approx.) are not can be stored in the body, which leads to that excess of amino acids to be stored as fat.
• Diets with high content of FAT:
This type of diets produce high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in blood due to the unlimited consumption of fat. They are characterized by a high amount of calories.
By way of illustration, each gram of fat produces 9.3 calories while protein and carbohydrates produce 4.1 and 4.3 respectively. This makes the amount of food that you can eat is lower compared to other diets even when the amount of total calories are the same.
As there is no metabolic pathway that converts fat into glucose, excess of it will be stored as adipose tissue.
