I prefer giving the bees a natural treating against these parasites and avoid medical treatment. One of these natural treatments is formic acid 60%. It doesn't afflict neither the honey nore the honeycombs. Formic acid (also known as methan acid or formalin acid) appears to the living varroa mite that lives on top of the bees.
If I make it to decimate the varroae to nothing my bees population has a good chance to survive the wintertime.

Gegen diese Parasiten bevorzuge ich immer schon eine Behandlung mit natürlichen Mitteln und nicht mit Medikamenten. Ein natürliches Mittel ist 60%ige Ameisensäure. Sie belastet weder den Honig, noch die Wachs-Waben.
Ameisensäure (auch bekannt als Methansäure, Formalinsäure) wirkt auf die lebenden Varroamilben, die auf den Bienen sitzen.
Wenn man es schafft, die Varroa-Milben stark zu dezimieren oder besser ganz zu beseitigen, sichert man sich die gesunde Überlebenschance seiner Bienenvölker.
The best pratice to shelter the bees and fight the varroae is a normal sponge cloth (like you can buy it at Aldi) and soake it with 60% formic acid. Then I place the soaked sponge cloth on top of the honeycombs at the frames. The
evaporation of the acid down the bee frame (inside the bee hive) the little vampires (varroae) will be killed.
Varroae are transferred by male bees to other hives and infect other bee colonies. The female varroae stay in the beehive they are born into.

Die beste Methode ist es, ein ganz normales Schwammtuch (wie das von Aldi) zu nehmen und mit 50 ml 60%iger Ameisensäure zu beträufeln.
Dieses Tuch wird oben auf die Waben-Rahmen gelegt. Durch die Verdunstung der Säure nach unten in die Zarge (den Bienenkasten) werden die Milben abgetötet. Die Varroa wird durch männliche Bienen, die auch in fremden Völkern aufgenommen werden, auf andere Völker übertragen. Die weiblichen Bienen bleiben immer im eigenen Volk.

Using this way of treatment without medicine my honey persists absolutely pure. One bee colony lives in two rooms in one beehive. There in are 22 honeycombs (each room has 11 wax honeycombs).
For this treatment each bee colony gets a therapy of every 5 days a treatment and that for 6 times (means nearly one month).

Bei dieser Art der Behandlung ohne Medizin bleibt der Honig absolut naturrein.
Ich nehme ein Schwammtuch für zwei Räume (eine Zarge / einen Kasten).
Ein Bienenvolk bewohnt eine Zarge mit zwei Räumen, das sind dann bei mir 22 Waben, da jeder Raum 11 Waben hat.
Die Bienenvölker bekommen von mir alle 5 Tage eine Behandlung = insgesamt 6 Behandlungen (ca. einen Monat insgesamt).
