RE: Schreiben oder nicht schreiben? Das ist hier die Frage! +Challenge
Hi, I'm answering in English, because I see you write sometimes in English. My college German allowed me to struggle through the post (well worth it), but never, never could I answer in German.
It strikes me as I read that the challenge facing bloggers is the same that has confronted every writer, in every venue. Library shelves are filled with books written by authors who have a formula for success and who keep grinding out books. Quantity over quality. And then there are authors who nurture ideas, who struggle with form and expression. These authors may turn out a gem every few years. It's a choice--the authors make it and readers make it.
Of course, monetary rewards matter, and the pressure of that incentive varies depending on life circumstance. But in the end, each of us has to evaluate how we want to spend our time, the kind of pleasure we hope to extract from our moments. The balance between reward and satisfaction is always a factor in any activity.
A very thoughtful post. I did enjoy reading it in German, although some of it did get past me and I refused to use Google translate.
