Mini Treehouse ResidencesteemCreated with Sketch.

This very small housing (34 m2) is located in Hong Kong and has been redesigned by the local studio NC Design and Architecture. In order to make the most of the space, the designers designed a suspended level above the main space housing a bedroom.

Originally, the Mini Treehouse Residence had followed a more conventional layout, with all its living spaces laid out on the same level. NCDA removed the internal wall of the structure and moved the room to a mezzanine, taking advantage of the beautiful high ceilings. The new layout offers a spacious and bright living space with the corner kitchen that opens onto a small living room and a dining room. The studio has adopted a new palette of colors, using a dark blue so that the walls contrast and frame the surrounding greenery of the building. The views are visible through the sliding doors, which open onto a small wooden deck with glass railings. The new level of the mezzanine is wrapped in a patterned wood screen and is accessed by a ladder. Designed to look suspended in space, the loft bedroom also has a window directly overlooking the surrounding woods, giving homeowners the feeling of sleeping among the trees.
