DeepOnion Mobile Wallet

One of the most important things you can do when entering the world of cryptocurrencies, is to ensure that you have a safe place to store them. Cryptocurrencies aren’t like fiat money because we cannot hold them or touch them, as they are digital and belong in that realm. In order to keep your digital coins safe you need a digital safe. Thankfully, there are digital safes called wallets (original name I know), that are specifically designed to store all kinds of cryptocurrencies. I cannot express how important it is to keep your stash of coins or tokens safe, especially with the rising number of security issues some crypto exchanges have experienced in recent months.

There are actually different types of wallets that are readily available to suit the needs of as many people as possible. Different wallets have different properties and have different levels of security, which outperform others in keeping cryptocurrencies the safest. There are software wallets, and there are hardware wallets, each wallet is used to primarily store all cryptocurrencies but their properties are different.

Software wallets include the likes of desktop wallets, and these are programs that you download from a cryptos website and install. Once the desktop wallet has been downloaded and installed, it can only be accessed on the device that it was installed on. Desktop wallets have some of the tightest security available and are most popular amongst many early investors, mainly because it is the easiest option and easy to set up. Next we have hardware wallets, now as the name suggests they are physical items and they resemble USB drives and allow investors to carry their crypto coins with them wherever they go. The great thing about hardware wallets is that they are actually stored offline, which greatly improves the level of security.

In terms of DeepOnions wallet, there is a deskptop wallet which is fully operational for most operating systems, including; Windows, Mac or Linux. This wallet is needed in order to anonymously send and receive ONION tokens, as well as participating in Proof-of-stake (PoS) rewards, sending and receiving encrypted messages and the overall support of the DeepOnion network. However, the DeepOnion community have been probing the idea of a mobile wallet, and the development team have listened and have been working towards putting together a mobile wallet.

The DeepOnion Mobile wallet must have the same functionality and the same level of security that the desktop wallet has, in order for it to be widely accepted by the community. After all we’re talking about keeping peoples investments in DeepOnion tokens safe here, and security is no laughing matter. The development team are currently working towards an Android mobile wallet, and in the future may work towards an iOs version, otherwise they are ignoring the vast majority of iPhone users. Some of the security features have also been discussed within the community, which involve the use of a face scanner, which is actually a similar practice to the DeepVault needing a live photo of you to prove your identity.

The reaction from the community has been one of joy and excitement, and they clearly can’t wait to be able to access their tokens via the mobiles, as well as conducting transactions too. The ability to send and receive ONIONS via a mobile wallet will send the value of DeepOnion soaring, which should garner the attention of more users.
