A person needs to accept Christ of their own free will. Praying for someone's salvation is like asking God to change their free will so they can accept Christ of their own free will. It makes no sense.
If you know an unsaved person, share the gospel with them if you have the opportunity. Be a good example of what a real Christian should be.
