Dragon Ball GT is not the DBZ timeline

in #dbz4 days ago

Toriyama literally said “I have what I call Canon” and explained the TV animation and the manga exist in one dimension, directly tied into continuity. Here is the exact quote.

Toriyama: I consider the TV Animation to exist in one dimension with the Manga. I have what I call Canon, which is the TV series and the original, printed comic edition works that are directly tied into continuity.

So the DBZ anime is not a side story to his manga. The DBZ Anime and Manga, together, are one continuity and one timeline. Whatever is shown in the Anime, are later additions to the original story and are meant to be in the original story. Toriyama had scheduling deadlines to meet and could not include many things that he wanted to include. Garlic Jnr Saga is Canon, and no one can do anything about it. That is something Toriyama would make too is the Garlic Jnr stuff. DB Daima. Demons. Anyone?

GT is an alternate timeline created by Future Trunks. Toriyama made the story for Xenoverse and supervised it’s production with Shueisha. Xenoverse is the sequel to his DBO, which does not include GTs events at all in DBO. They are however included, as an alternate timeline, in Xenoverse.

Time Patroller Trunks (Toriyamas DBZ Future Trunks. The exact same one) explains in Xenoverse while you visit the GT timeline, that this timeline was created because of his time travel.

That’s the end of the argument. Toriyama canon says GT is an alternate timeline to DBZ entirely. Just like DBS is. The sooner you all learn that, the better. I am so sick of seeing people get this wrong. And you will stop getting this wrong. Right now.

Why am I the only person that gets this right?

I have told people on Dragon Ball Z Amino this and they just say “but the preview for GT episode 1 was in the Japanese version of DBZ”

So? That doesn’t mean it exists in the same timeline as DBZ. In case you forgot, the DBZ anime had episodes of another timelines events. Future Trunks killing the Androids and Cell. That timeline is not in the DBZ Kid Buu timeline. Just like GT is not in the DBZ Kid Buu timeline.

Toriyama called GT a side story. And that’s what it is. It is happening in an alternate timeline or “dimension”. And then people make this mistake in their own argument. Oh Saiyan Scholar? You tried to say GT is part of the DBZ timeline? At the same time you tried to say ALLLLL of the DBZ movies are part of GT continuity.

That’s a contradiction. Because the DBZ anime and Manga exist “in one dimension, directly tied into continuity”

And the DBZ movies “exist in another dimension. I’m entirely an audience member for them”

Some of the Movies probably tie in to GT. But Movie 12 does not. In Movie 12, Kid Buu does not exist. So there will be no Uub. End of explanation.

And I never said GT is non canon. In fact by being part of TOEIs DBZ anime, that definitely makes GT canon. It’s just happening…in another tiiiimeline. Just like Future Trunks killing Cell happens, in another tiiiimeline.

Just like Cell killing Future Trunks! Happens in another tiiiimeliiiiine.

But DBO happens in the DBZ anime/manga tiiiimeliiiine. And Xenoverse is the sequel to DBO. Both are official according to Toriyama. He confirmed DBO as a solid official. I have the statements on video. And he CREATED the original Xenoverse story, he supervised the Xenoverse story production with Shueisha, and he made decisions for what they were allowed to do with the characters. Like not being allowed to kill certain characters off, Towa and Mira.

Fhck.

Ciao.
