Just Regained Access to my Steemit Account After Two Months Believing My Password Was Gone Forever!
Guess whose back...
Back again...
Tell your friends...
So two months ago I watched the Amazon series Mr. Robot which I highly recommend and thought that I would become a wizard just like Elliot by installing and using the Linux operating system. I had a 64 gb flash drive. I imaged the installation onto it. Although, I did not expect that the process of installing the new OS from my flash drive would also reformat my flash drive, not just my computers hard drive. And all of my data, years and years of poems, writings, essays, pictures, passwords, etc were on that flash drive. Then all I was left with was a useless flash drive which contained literally everything on it.
Including my Steemit login information.
Yes... if you've ever felt a sinking pit open up within as the realization that you've just lost your Steemit password sets in. Which no big deal if you didn't have $1200 worth of STEEM in your account wallet...
So I had accepted this terrible tragedy two months ago.
I had given up hope there was any chance of recovering all my data.
Until I found this program basically by random happenstance :
https://www.easeus.com/
I ate the cost, nearly a $100, to buy the software in hopes of the far out chance I could magically restore all that data.
The deep scan ran for awhile, and it really was so simple as clicking the button "recover" and I was able to restore all that information, including my Steemit password, to a new location on my computer. And then I searched the word "Steemit" and found my old long lost credentials file... which contained the password... and as I opened the file and saw the password there clear and intact happy tears filled my eyes.
You may be wondering where I have been!
I'm very excited to continue my journey with Steemit and bringing content that is strange and peculiar and something you might not expect to find on a cryptocurrency-centric social platform.
What a SIGH of relief.
For all of those out there in a similar situation, do not get give up trying to retrieve your lost data.
That is the website you can buy the software to recover anything, and I mean anything you've lost.
I took the risk and I regained access to my account and I got my 600+ STEEM back!
Imagine if I never regained access and STEEM went to over a $100 each,
that would mean I would have had locked up forever in a Steemit account over $100,000 worth of STEEM.
I've learned a very very important lesson. KEEP A GODDAMN BACKUP.
Because you don't care until it happens to you. Until you do it to you.
Glad to be back!
