Ripples of Fear (Part I)
Fear is often the rock that splashes in the puddle of our lives.
When a rock splashes in a puddle it creates hundreds or even thousands of ripples. The impact creates a wave that ripples out affecting other molecules within it’s path.
Each ripple represents the choices you have in your life. When you choose one, it will ultimately guide you to a different destination, which has it’s own ripples that are created as a result of that. Sometimes there is a clear path, sometimes you hit a wall, sometimes debris falls into your path. But no matter what route you take, every decision affects the outcome of your life and the lives of everyone else.
When people are ruled by fear, they act out of instinct. Instead of being able to hold space for their emotions and allow themselves to express who they truly are, they don’t allow these emotions to exist so they push them out and block them out of their minds.
The problem is they never actually go away. At least not until we allow them to express what they are trying to tell us.
However, because we are taught, as a society to suppress our emotions and feelings, most people allow fear to dictate their decision-making process and direct the path of their lives.
But which choice is the right choice? The right choice is the one that leads us down our golden path (I’ll write about this more later). The golden path is basically the path of becoming the greatest versions of ourselves.
Fear is simply a mechanism to protect us from harm’s way. In this ever-changing world, it is nice to have a built-in defense system that will spring right away to ensure we are protected. The problem is that there are so many that allow this defense mechanism to control their lives.
In my experiences, I have learned that the best way to go through life is by going with the flow and riding the waves towards the path that allows us to tap into our natural-born talents.
One of the biggest reasons fear rules our lives is because of resistance. I’m sure you have heard the saying, “what you resist, persists.”
By denying your darkness the ability to communicate a message that you need to hear, you suppress an aspect of yourself that is needed in order for you to become your best. This resistance causes you to deny the truth of who you truly are because you see it’s message as bad. You may see it as something that is a burden or something that is holding you or others back. But the truth of the matter is that we need to unify with this part of ourselves and embrace the darkness so we can regain control of our lives.
The resistance causes barriers to be created. From there fear works it’s dark magic and fills in the rest, creating a world based around your fears. Some have entire cities built around this deeply engrained fear and others maybe just have a small village.
This causes many people to go through great distances to protect it, because fear says “it is necessary, fight for me and I will protect you.” You unknowingly go along with it, thinking this is what is needed to keep you safe and you end up taking a passenger seat to it, with fear as the driver.
If you have ever seen the movie “The Matrix,” when they talk of not being able to unplug someone from the matrix, this is why. The fear that they have is so deeply engrained in their belief system that to simply shut off an entire city they have created within the constructs of their internal reality would cause chaos to ensue. It would be an apocalypse within the mind.
The solution is to start asking yourself questions and trying to understand why you believe what you believe. It is important for us to have an idea of where this fear came from, so we can know what we need to do in order to clear it.
Once we break free from the wave of fear that has captured us, we will begin to ride out a new wave. This new wave consists of love and acceptance. Thus, giving you the ability to truly pursue the things that you want to pursue. When you ride this wave out, you are now in the drivers seat of your life. From this you can create ripples from love, rather than fear.
Keep on spreading the love my beautiful friends <3
What a great metaphor choice to build around! I love ripples- they are
figurativelyliterally everything.. just like an electron will function like a wave particle - we do too. As above so below. You make such an important point, which is to know which wave you're riding. Fear, in my opinion is the opposite of love, (I know many people that is hate but fear is the causation of hate, it's root emotion is fear)I let Fear rule my life for a long time and only in the last 5-6 years or so have I began to assess that and start standing up to Fear.
I like this post very much and I'm excited to see what others have to say!
You are so right, ripples are EVERYTHING! Because everything we do has an impact on the future, it's like a giant game of chess because each move we make is so intricate. I agree, fear is the opposite of love for sure. So many people are kept in fear, which prevents them from becoming their greatest.
I started a movement in Louisville called The Louisville Ripple and it is basically a platform for social justice. But the premise behind it is to spread awareness of what we need to do in order to make changes within our system. We hosted a few events last year for Standing Rock to create a ripple effect that will impact the entire city, before eventually spreading out and affecting the entire planet! 😃
Just for your perusal. Thank-you by the way, for your composition. Here is a quote from one of your great countrymen which came to mind while pondering your post and @amariespeaks reply.
--''We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly; affects all indirectly.''
Keep on keeping on. 😇
@meditationmann I don't know how I missed this reply! I wanted to tell you your Louisville Ripple movement is amazing and admirable!! Standing applause!!
I'm so happy the world has people like you who can make a stand and cause some ripples of change - Standing Rock is such a travesty.. a crime against humanity really.
@Simon62 perfectly timed quote ! (as usual!)
May the blessings be. 😇
Thank you sister 🙏🏻 But truly, the only way to foster the change we wish to see is through unifying with others to spread this as far and wide as it will go! We are changing the world together @amariespeaks 😃🙌
