Observations of Decentralization and Leadership and the Universal Sharing Network

In full disclosure I hold a handful various cryptocurrencies nothing in a large amount.

Like many who took part in the Eth presale I was looking for a worthy next project to get behind, and when I learned about what Slockit was attempting to do with the Universal Sharing Network (USN) I became excited and put almost half of the Eth I owned towards the project. When the hack happened I was quite upset for a couple of days. Not just because of the possible loss of funds but because of the possible loss of a vision for an empowered sharing economy, the aforementioned Universal Sharing Network powered in part by Ethereum Smart Contracts and Slockit Smart Locks.

Before the hack I frequented the DAOHUB.ORG and DAO SLACK to see how everything was developing and what I saw was increasing confusion. The vision for a better future was quickly going out of focus as so many looked at the DAO funds as free money to give their entrepreneurial visions a boost. So to be honest my excitement started to die out a bit before the hack. Without a clear path there was no going forward fast.

Decentralization in the crypto world has some persuasive strong personalities that are seen as roots for the cause as it were. We seek them out on youtube to stay informed, we quote them when we discuss cryptos with noobs. They are in fact the leadership of decentralization. They do not decree hardforks or hashing rates but they do a create vision of what is possible. The USN lacked this vision but thanks to some the message at least reached me. And I want very much to see it made a reality, whether it be on Rootstock, Ethereum Classic, Ethereum or the next one. Somewhere between rugged individualism and groupthink is a world where amazing things are about to happen.

I haven't given up on the Universal Sharing Network. I am watching to see who picks up the mantle. The vision exists it only waits for inspired leadership.
