dance
Dance. Not only memorize the movement following the rhythm, but also align the heart with what you want to show. To quote Atik Sopandi's dance definition, "the art of dance is the expression of the human soul through the movement of rhythm or certain ideas."
In order to commemorate World Dance Day which falls every April 29, various dance performances are performed all over the world. In Indonesia, Dance Day is celebrated in the city of Solo, Central Java, with a 24-hour dance performed since Tuesday morning. Jalan Jenderal Sudirman made an open stage for the public to see the diversity of dance performances of the archipelago.
In India, this year's Dance Day is performed on a large stage by performing typical Indian dances. Themed "No Boundary", the biggest musical performance of the year is part of the Indian effort to preserve their culture through dance performances.
History of World Dance Day
World Dance Day was first reported in 1982 by the international dance agency CID-Counseil International de la Danse. The aim is to invite all citizens of the world to participate in their country's diverse dance show.
In 2003, Professor Alkis Raftis, President of CID, said that the preservation of dancing culture is still very minimal. There is no institution or organization that adequately fund the art, no dance education, so the interest of the people to pursue the field of dance is still very low.
Together with UNESCO, CID becomes a place for world citizens to perform dance performances from their culture. With so expected all the younger generation can continue to preserve the culture through the art of dance.
In early 2007, the promotion to celebrate Dance Day intensified. By focusing on children, the international CID dance institute asks all schoolchildren to participate in an essay writing contest on their country's dance, dance-themed paintings, and even dancing competitions held on the streets. Since then, World Dance Day has been increasingly appreciated by the population so many dance performances are held to commemorate the day.
In Indonesia itself this event was held in yogyakarta in 2018, this dance event is very attractive to the dancers throughout Indonesia especially children ...
