Cypherium | Presenting UN Veteran Amir Dossal with Inaugural ‘Blockchain Humanitarian’ Award
Cypherium joined the United Nations’ Blockchain Commission for Sustainable Development in its first-ever ‘Blockchain for Impact’ Summit at the UN in New York City. We’re supporting The Commission in outlining a strategy to help global leaders apply blockchain towards real-world challenges like sustainable development.
Amir Dossal served as the Executive Director of the UN Office for Partnerships until 2010. He is the founder and president of the Global Partnerships Forum, a not-for-profit knowledge platform to provide changemakers with the tools to build innovative partnerships to address economic and social challenges. More recently, he co-founded the Blockchain Commission for Sustainable Development, and now serves as its Executive Vice Chair.
Amir had this to say about receiving the award: “Blockchain technology has the potential to be the ‘great equalizer’ as we strive for social equality internationally, and we’re just starting to scratch the surface. Projects like Cypherium are accelerating this technology’s capacity to be applied towards humanitarian and sustainability efforts.”
We’re grateful to Amir’s leadership in spearheading efforts to use blockchain for social good. Stay tuned for much more news on our collaboration with the UN in the coming weeks!
