Not Only Urges, the Government Should Also be Ready to Evacuate CITIZENS from Areas of Conflict
Member of Commission I DPR RI Fraction Gerindra Fadli Zon asked the government not only issued a plea, but also the efforts of the evacuation of CITIZENS from conflict areas. This response to the conflict of Iran-US.
"The citizens of Indonesia should be in addition to the plea also there is a step of evacuation to an area which is safe yes. I guess this is happening in Libya there was an evacuation, and so on. Moreover, the region Iraq's Green Zone, the region within the Green zone which is considered to be safe. On the outside it's not safe," he said, in the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/1).
He added that the contingency plan also selaiknya prepared. As a preparation in case of escalation of the conflict heats up.
"According to my need yes, especially other countries already do. We do not know the development of what will happen. Will be cooling down or actually increased escalation," he said.
As information, the Ministry of foreign Affairs (Mfa) has issued a release which contains an appeal to all CITIZENS who are in the conflict to keep on the alert. CITIZENS are requested to follow the information from local authorities is mainly related to the development of situation and security in each country.
"And we ask all of our CITIZENS to immediately contact the EMBASSY, CONSULATE if you need help," the message of the foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi.
In a release, the Ministry of foreign affairs also lists a hotline representative of Indonesia in the country in the Middle East.
"Not only in Tehran, in Baghdad, but also in the surrounding areas, just in case our CITIZENS need help. Because once again we are sure if we're talking about the region, then the number of our CITIZENS will be over 1 million," he explained.
"And in the Ministry of foreign Affairs itself, the crisis center is turned on and there is a phone number that we put in in a release the Ministry of foreign Affairs this morning."
Retno Marsudi to convey, it also has to finalize a contingency plan if the escalation is getting heated up. Last week, since the assassination of Sulaimani, directly coordinating with the Ambassador in the country related to drawing up a contingency plan, to anticipate if the escalation will continue to increase.
"And yesterday I also had a talk with the commander, to convey all the possibilities that can happen," said Retno.
"While we observe the development, we will continue to observe closely at all regarding the problem of Indonesian citizens," he said.
