Do you know the strong currency in Africa?
Most currencies all over the world are often measured against the USD. However, that doesn’t mean the strongest currency in the world is The US Dollar. In fact the highest currency in the world as we speak is Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD).
The reason why USD dollar is often used as a standard of comparison is because it’s used worldwide as a general exchange currency for goods and services.
Let’s now narrow down to Africa and look at some of the strongest currencies. The strength of currencies is closely associated with the economy of the respective country, along with other factors.
- Libyan Dinar
- Tunisia Dinar
- Ghanaian Cedi
- Sudanese Pound
- Zambian Kwacha
- Egyptian Pound
- Moroccan Dirham
- Botswana Pula
- Eritrean Nakfa
- South African Rand
Unfortunately, our own currency, the Kenya Shilling is nowhere on the list of top strongest currencies in Africa due to state of our economy and the value of the Kenya Shilling in the exchange market.
