Word Poetry Challenge on Steemit | Curie Community Building Support Application
Hello Steemit Community!
I am writing this post for two things : (1) To apply Word Poetry Challenge for Curie Community Building Support (See under #wordchallenge tag) and (2) To promote Word Poetry Challenge in efforts to bring more entries and participants on this 4-month long challenge).
Allow me to share Word Poetry Challenge - bringing more Poetries in the Steem blockchain and rewards them with prizes (and upvotes).
What is Word Poetry Challenge?
Word Poetry Challenge is a weekly contest, aiming to empower and encourage Steemit users to publish original poetries in the Steem blockchain. The contest runs weekly, and each week a different theme is introduced as the main topic of the contest.
It is termed "Word Poetry Challenge" because the theme of the contest is by Words. A word that gets the main topic of the piece of poetry a user makes. I have been hosting 2 different Word Poetry Contest that continuously rewards participants in contest prizes (and using my SP as personal upvotes) to support their entries - the "Word Poetry Challenge English Edition" and "Word Poetry Challenge Tagalog Edition (for the Philippine Community).
The current themes for this week are "Fears" and "Pagbabalik" which the contest submission will end on September 13th (GMT+8) and the winners will be announced a day later.
It has been Long Running, Rewarding Contest
It has been running for more than 13 weeks now and is continuously encouraging the Steemit community to post their amazing poetries in the Steem blockchain. To prove the validity on the contest (aside from checking https://steemit.com/created/wordchallenge), I consolidated the contest announcement and the winning pieces. 10 STEEM per week for Word Poetry Challenge Tagalog Edition : (5, 3 , 2 breakdown of winners)
Per weekly Budget : 20 STEEMs
Per Monthly Budget : 80 STEEMs
How will the Support be Used?
The said Budget support will be used throughout the month period. It will be used as contest prizes for the continuity of the challenge and certainly be looking forward to continue this challenge just what is #memechallenge is doing. It's wonderful to see beautiful poetries published in Steemit.
As a pledge to support those poetry entries, I'm upvoting those entries via my voting power too.
Approximately How Many Users Participate in Word Poetry Challenge Contest?
With this running up to its 15th week, the highest I've tallied so far was 35 amazing entries and the lowest was 11 entries. There are a lot of considering factors for it. One specific is the sudden dump of Steem's price. On another note, some also find some themes difficult to make.
How will supporting your community or contest help grow the Steem community?
Poetries are amazing things published in Steemit. Under #poetry tag, you can see lots of poetries already published in Steemit. To add more poetry contents, this challenge is initiated to attract and boost more poetry posts in Steemit.
Steem is a platform that makes our content as it "brand". Poetry makes it more better.

Hopefully, word poetry challenge will be granted with additional Steem so ss to prolong the contest eve more. May I say that I admire sir @jassennessaj for hosting such initiative which inspires more steemians to produce quality unique poems. With this contest , I was also able to meet new friends and more people with the same love for literature. Holding a contest and supporting participants with rewards is really a tough job. Looking forward that this application can be considered and will be granted. The intention is purely selfless. Personally, I am truly grateful to @jassennessaj for creating this contest wherein me and our fellow steemians are pretty well motivated to squeeze up our mind to come up with a piece worth submitting, not only for the prize but to have something to offer to our keen followers. I know that there are steemians who have been quiet already but are continually getting inspirations by reading some blogs in the community especially from the people they are following. And this initiative definitely proved @jassenessaj’s ardent desire to keep our community active and alive as possible - to stay connected.
