National Foundation Day on 11 February in Japan 建国記念の日🗾日本ができた日ではない！？

Hi, Steemians. Today is National Foundation Day on 11 February in japan.
I thought Japan was founded today...
But actually...not...
今日は建国記念の日。。。
私、建国記念日と思っていました。。。この日に日本ができたのだと。。。。でも、違うんですね。

The day when Japan was founded is not clear.
So Today is a day to celebrate the fact that Japan was founded.
That was decided based on old Japanese mythology.
日本では、実際の建国日が明確でないのだそう。
建国されたという事実を記念する日として、建国神話をもとに、「建国をしのび、国を愛する心を養う日」として1966（昭和41）年に定められたそう。
だから建国記念日ではなく建国記念の日なんですね。この「の」にこんな意味があったなんて。。。みなさん知ってましたか？

According to old Japanese mythology, Emperor Jinmu ascended the throne as the first emperor of Japan on this day.
では、なぜ今日2月11日になったのかというと、、、
古事記や日本書紀で初代天皇とされる神武天皇の即位日である旧暦の紀元前660年1月1日にあたるからだそう。
明治に入り新暦に換算した日付が今日2月11日なのです。

At Meiji period, we had other holiday for celebration of founding.It was called ‘Kigensetsu’.
The end of the Second World War, It was abolished.
But It was enacted as of a holiday again. because people needed the day they love own country. We call today ‘Kenkokukinen no Hi’.
もともと明治時代には、「紀元節」と呼ばれる建国を祝う祝日がありました。
しかし、第二次世界大戦後の1948（昭和23）年、ＧＨＱの意向により「紀元節」は廃止されることになります。
その後、国民の間で「紀元節」復活の動きが高まり1966（昭和41）年に、「建国記念の日」は国民の祝日になったんですね。

Today is the day we are proud and appreciative of being Japanese.
今日は、国を愛し、日本人であることに誇りを持つ日ですね。
