Newar community
Nevari people speak Newari language. They have different surnames. They have togetherness but they live in different areas of our country. In various places like Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. Mostly, the people are Newar. They celebrate their culture, language according to their religion.
They celebrate the tradition like Gai Jatra, Indra Jatra, Bisket Jatra, Dashain, Tihar, Mother's day, Father's day, and many more. Bisket Jatra is one of the jatras celebrated by the community which falls on the Nepali new year in the month of Baishak. Gai Jatra (sa paru) is celebrated where the family that has lost its member takes out a procession around the city with one member dressed like a cow. Indra Jatra (yenya puni) is the festival dedicated to Lord Indra, king of heaven.
This type of religions is celebrated by Newars but not by others community. Newars celebrate mostly Hinduism and Buddism. Agriculture and farming are the main occupations of Newar community.
