A few months ago, I visited the Amiens
Cathedral. Amiens is a town in northern France.

In Western Europe, there are lots of Gothic cathedrals from the Middle Ages, most of them made of white stone. Nowadays, these cathedrals are entirely white, and no matter how extravagant their architecture is, you can feel like something is missing.

During my trip in Amiens, I learned that cathedrals used to be painted with bright colors, but these colors faded with time. The town is very proud of their cathedral, so every night, they project colorful lights on the cathedral to reproduce the colors that it used to have.
