HAWAIIAN SAILING / Hawaiian Life / HAWAIIAN CULTURE

in #culture7 years ago

I've had the honor to come to Hawaii to learn the culture of my ancestors.

This is a traditional Hawaiian sailing canoe ( Wa'a Kaulua)

My family started the rebuild in 2014.

we finished last year and finally after years of hard work, got to set her in the water!

Her name is, HahaLuaLele ( flying manta ray ) after a couple of months of sea trials we got stormed in to a beach for three days. when the weather let up and we set sail, a manta jumped in front of our canoe and we knew it was a sign.
