Cultural Appropriation NonsensesteemCreated with Sketch.

So Halloween is over and there really was not as much reporting regarding cultural appropriation nonsense as I was expecting. There was a fantastic video posted at prageru.com, which showed a Caucasian male in a sombrero and a poncho along with a fake mustache.

In the video all of the college kids (mostly white) are offended by his outfit. So apparently no Caucasians can wear sombreros without being racist because after all they aren't Mexican. He then shows video of actual Mexican people being a-okay with his getup; they even like it! This three minute video is very, very telling and worthy of your time.

You probably heard about Megan Kelly saying it was okay to dress as a black person to honor them, and then getting fired even after apologizing. My question is, shouldn’t it depend on the intent behind the comment, or the context with which it was delivered? In other words, isn't it racist if and only if someone is trying to mock or make fun of a culture as opposed to paying tribute or respect to them?

Where was the outrage from all of these left wingers when Jimmy Kimmel dressed in black face while making fun of the way Karl Malone speaks?

How about Ted Danson doing blackface right next to Whoopi Goldberg who was laughing?

The hypocrisy by the liberals is one thing, but the bottom line is that we are simply too opulent of a society and thus bored, which gives way to being way too eager to be offended by something. Do you really think that people who are searching for their next meal have the time to waste on being bothered by every minor indiscretion committed by someone else ... particularly if it is unintentional? Christ, we are so self-important in current American society. It is all about us and how we perceive every little thing from minute to minute. Let me ask you this, is someone who dresses up like Ben Shapiro, who is Jewish, being anti-Semitic? Of course they are not. Are you beginning to see my point here?

Look at this video of a Caucasian male in dreadlocks (who probably has them because he thinks they make him look cool) being castigated by do gooders who think they are protecting the sacred realm of cultural appropriation. Do you think they are right, or are you more inclined to see it as I do which is to say LIGHTEN THE EFF UP ALREADY!

We desperately need to slam our foot down on the crazy pedal before we topple over into the land of absurdity and disbelief. For crying out loud this shit is getting ridiculous, and if we cannot collectively acknowledge that, then I honestly fear for the future.
