"CryptoRuble" will protect Russia from the West's sanctions.
Vladimir Putin's economic adviser, Sergei Glazyev, said the CryptoRuble could lead to a reduction in sanctions imposed by the West in a recent state conference. As you know, a cryptocurrency and a definite problem arise when Russia is side-by-side. When it comes to CryptoRuble, the same situation is happening in Russia. There are also different opinions about the national digital currency unit in the country.
Russia's "CryptoRuble" is a digital version of Ruble as it appears in its name. "CryptoRuble" is a digital currency controlled by the state and operates as a legal instrument.
Sergei Glazyev said that a state-controlled crypto-government, like CryptoRuble, would help Russia fight the sanctions imposed by the West:
"This vehicle is suitable for sensitive issues of the state. Regardless of the sanctions, we can reach an agreement with our partners from anywhere in the world. "
Different Thoughts
Glazyev's positive "CryptoRuble" is one of the different opinions of the Russian government regarding crypto-currency.
According to Russia's TASS news agency, some state officials did not give a specific comment on CryptoRuble at a state-organized conference on December 28 in Russia.
Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev and Deputy Managing Director of the Russian Central Bank Olga Skorobogatov said that there is no need to create a national cryptographic unit.
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Summit held in June 2017, he made the following statement:
"We will create a national crypto-monetary unit. We're already working on it. "
Not a new issue
Discussions on the creation of national digital currency in the Russian government coincide with 2015. For the first time, Russia's payment service provider, Qiwi, has launched this idea and has suggested that the public cryptanalysis in the country be called "BitRuble."
The Russian State Duma has formally set up an official working group to investigate the risks and how to regulate cryptanalysis. In the past, though, the news that cryptanalysis would be banned in Russia once, the position of the state is still unclear. It is expected that digital money will be adjusted.
