Useful tools for analyzing CryptoKitties
As for now the "CryptoKitties" are not as hot as 2 weeks ago. But I still believe in the team because after I've read their white paper, I know the team is on the right track, and they will go back with a bigger wave. In order to buy ideal kitties, I realized that tools for analyzing these cuties are essential. Here I listed what I've found and let's check out how they work.
1. KittyExtension
The KittyExtension is a browser extension made for chrome and firefox. With chrome, firstly you need to install a javascript management extension called TamplerMonkey, then install the script inside TamperMonkey.
By turning on KittyExtension, the kitten's catrributes are grouped and colored by rarity. Thus we will know if a kitten is rare enough, intuitively. The best part of the extension is all the cattributes are listed and sorted by rarity on the left. We can click on the catrribute we want and list all the cats which are having it, fantastic!
2. Kitty Explorer
KittyExplorer is a website that collecting the transactions data of CryptoKitties. Besides the data of each cat, the most useful part is the statistical data of all CryptoKitties, such as how many kitties were bred(and gen 0 cats adopted) per day, how many kitties were sold per day, how much money(ether) spent per day and the average kittie price per day. Also, the price history of each cat is tracked, so we can locate the transactions (by txhash) happened on every cat easily. A chrome extension is provided as well, which is making the tool more convenient and powerful.
3. CryptoKittyDex
Unlike KittyExplorer, CryptoKittyDex is a powerful tool for checking each kitten's trading history, providing much more details on transactions, catrributes, and even genes, instead of making statistics on all CryptoKitties. All catributes are listed and sorted by rarity. Better than KittyExtension, all the catributes are shown with example cats, so you can choose them by a more compact and intuitive way.
Conclusion
I personally believe now it is the perfect timing to invest in CryptoKitties. As we can see, the whole designs of genes, breeding, and mutation are beautiful. Though it is lacking social interaction and not much playable currently, it is just a matter of time. According to the roadmap of the project, the frontend will be upgraded soon. Without the tools mentioned above, you will not have any idea if your kitty is rare enough and if it has potential.
