The World Of Money Is Changing & Some Cryptos Will Not Be Around: Amanda B. Johnson

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

In 2013, Amanda encountered Bitcoin. Amanda wrote blog posts for several large Bitcoin publications including Bitcoin Magazine, CoinTelegraph, Bitcoin.com. In late 2015, Amanda started a YouTube series entitled The Daily Decrypt, which discussed the currency competition and evolution taking place in the crypto space, By mid-2016, she decided to specialize in one network in particular — Dash and now hosts Dash - Digital Cash on Youtube. The discussion opens with Amanda explaining what cryptos are and how they are used. Some cryptos will not be around and the block chain technology will advance to allow for payment by employers and to purchase goods from stores. As more and more people start to realize that this is a form of currency there will be no need for banks, many people will become un-banked.

One thing that never got covered in this interview, is how a regular full node becomes a 'Master Node' and then gets payouts in DASH for playing a major role in the DASH blockchain. Essentially, to be a Master Node, you must maintain a balance of 1000 DASH as well as make some changes to the software setup. I won't get technical, but that means that of the 7.3M DASH currently generated on the blockchain 4.565M DASH are in a locked state, and have an incentive to help the currency succeed (4565 master node count today x 1000 DASH each). Unlike all other cryptos, the main coin owners have a vested interest in holding, rather than dumping on every uptrend. Source for Master Node info... https://www.dashninja.pl

What does everyone think will happen with Steem? Think it will make a lasting impact?

A currency it probably won't go very far.

I'd love to hear Amanda's take on Steem - a software guy into cryptocurrencies I know who reviewed their whitepaper was not favorable from the technical side.

Excellent guest for your spotlight.

Some cryptos are deff bound to time out.

haha nice BEWARE of cryptos...

I heard the interview! Good stuff

I listened to this earlier today. One of your more interesting interviews Dave.

One by one bank services will be outdated, they need to keep up or they will go out of competition. Cryptocurrency will change the landscape of financial industry.

How Dash provide instant verification? Is this only up to a small limited amount, to make it ideal for smaller transactions? Very interesting to learn more about Dash. I'll have to diversify some bitcoin into Dash.

I use it especially as a mediator to trade between exchanges reliably, because it is so fast and reliable, whereas Bitcoin might have your funds locked up for over a week in limbo.... Dash is so reliable, just to cash out of any transaction - its by far my favourite. People can choose Litecoin I guess, but that personally crashes my old computer with the Segwit... Dash on the other hand, my old computer purrrs on.... its catnip...

I'm glad you mentioned Litecoin, I was going to ask if it paid on the full node like Dash, or not, like bitcoin? I am largely in Bitcoin and Litecoin, with a few ETH and a few other small older cryptos that I really don't have a lot of hope for. I want to make sure I'm diversified with some "full node" crypto also, and within that category.

Good interview. Lots of things going on in the Crypto Markets.
