My Cryptocurrency Story - Balancing a Full Time Job, Family, Friends, Travel and Investments

I am old school. I didn't have the luxury of having a computer, game & watch, Ataris, etc. when I was a child. I refused to change my phone, laptop and doorknobs even when I knew (and with my wife's consistent prodding) that I should keep up. I only learned how to play Pac-Man when I brought my kids to the arcade a few years back. In short, I never expected any of these gadgets and technologies to come out - not in my time, not in the few years that I am going to live in this world.

I am an Electrician by trade. Day in, day out I do trade shows - sometimes a whole month without a day off and sometimes a whole month without work. It was during a no-work day that it hit me... How do I keep up? What's out there? How can I give my three little ones (now ages 4, 7 and 11) a bright future?

This is when I started searching for new and extra ways to make money. I searched Youtube and stumbled upon the word Cryptocurrency. I was skeptic but then thought, "It costs a few minutes of my time and nothing to watch so, game on!" After one video, I searched more, researched more and finally understood. I invested (this was back in 2014)! My excitement about this trending topic back then made me introduce it to family and friends. Most of them turned out to be way more skeptic than me. Though three followed my lead - now they're also in a better position (yay!). From then on, I never bothered anyone about it again. I kept on with my little secret of investments.

When money started multiplying, I became a huge believer. Every time I came home from work, I had to check my earnings - If there were any. It was like an addiction but better than gambling in the strip, or drinking alcohol to drown away sorrows. It was a positive route! It had a huge effect on my way of thinking and maturity. I just had to watch closely - that's all there is to it. It brought new excitement to my already busy life.

After my initial success story, I started reconnecting with friends, travelling with the fambam (beach destinations and fishing are our thing and there are sites that take crypto as payment - Amazing!) and allotting more time to extracurricular activities. I still work but not as much as I used to. I am happy with the way things are right now. There are bad days in the crypto world but there are good days, as well. I do not dwell on the bad. I look forward to our future.
