My Random Journey Into Crypto Investing/Trading - INTRODUCTION

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Hi,

I am a random 25 year old French dude and this is the introduction part of a series of weekly reports (not really sure about the frequency yet to be honest) I plan on publishing on Steemit about my journey into Cryptocurrencies Investing/Trading.

I discovered Steemit not so long ago and since this discovery matches two other events that happened very recently, I felt like it might be the right time to write my first post on this platform (my first post ever actually because I've never had a blog or any place where I have written).

So what are those two events?

1: My decision to invest in cryptocurrencies.
2: My decision to start writing.

Let's dig into the big WHY shall we?

Why I've decided to invest into cryptocurrencies (Will abbreviate "CC" from now on).

The first time I came across CC was at the beginning of the Bitcoin. I did not think much of it at the time and thought it was just some interesting/funny virtual money that you could use to buy stuff from the Internet.
I hesitated to buy a couple, just to try it out but was really in no position to waste (if only I knew back then!) money so I passed.

Then I went on with my life for a number of years and one day I stumbled upon the price of a Bitcoin which was around 80$ at the time.
WOW, I should have bought some back then, God how stupid I was, I'm sure I could have spared some money for it, and if I knew what I know now I'd have put everything I could!
Next time such an opportunity like this happens, for sure I'll take the shot!
Too bad it's too late and too expensive now I can't afford to buy some and it won't go up much, if it goes up at all...

And then here we are again, the months have passed and now the Bitcoin is at 700$.
WHAT? How is it even possible?
No, not once again...
Well now it is definitely too late to buy some.. I'll just wait for the Bitcoin price to drop dramatically and then I'll jump in!
Or so I thought.

And now, you have probably figured out what happened next.
2850$.
It is the price where I have finally jumped in, last week.

I told myself, enough is enough, I've got to put some money into it.
So after some more research into its purpose, aim and current state, I've taken the leap and here my journey started!

Why I've decided to start writing?

For a while now, I've been telling myself that I should write for the following reasons:

1: To improve my writing skills (hello captain obvious!)

2: To improve my English fluency (I have been reading, listening, watching pretty much everything in English since I was 16/17 years old so I understand it quite well but I'm not practicing my ability to express my mind in the language of Shakespeare which is a shame).

3: As an exercise in Mini-habits that I picked up from the book "How to be an Imperfectionist" by Stephen Guise.
I'm trying to be better everyday (inspired by many, but especially the 1% improvement by James Altucher. Be 1% better everyday).

4: To create accountability. (If I tell the world i'm writing every X period, well it'll force me to do it!)

So here I am, finishing my small introduction to my series of reports on my journey into cryptocurrencies.
If you've managed to read this far, you are either courageous, or really bored, or both ;)

In any case, thank you very much for reading, you'll probably be one of the first to ever read what I put out publicly!
I hope it'll give you the desire to take a look at my journey.

I'll be putting up my first report later, it will sum up my first 10 days into this new world for me!

PS: If you've seen any typos, errors, or phrases that could be written better, I'll be glad to hear it so I an improve.

See you later guys!

THKKR
